The cooking class is held in the most beautiful agricultural village where you will see our Vietnamese Medicine Garden with many different kinds of herbs, spices and vegetables for you to select from. Our professional chef will show you how easy it is to prepare delicious healthy food using these ingredients during a hands-on cooking class.

After lunch, visit rice paper making village to understand the making process and learn to make one if you want. Then explore the rubber tree forest and see how the local people collect the latex.

Continue to Cu Chi Tunnels. If you want to see how Vietnamese people were able to defeat the technologically superior Americans, you can go 40 miles northwest of Saigon to the region of Cu Chi and check out the secret tunnels guerrilla fighters built.

Extended over an area of approximately 250 kilometers, the tunnels played a crucial role in helping the Vietnamese troops win against the American insurgents during the warfare.

In the course of 20 years, Vietnamese people dug an elaborate system of tunnels stretching more than 120 miles to be the ultimate shelter of the Viet Cong fighters.  The fighters used the tunnels to avoid aerial attacks, house troops, transport communication,  and supplies. After an attack, they would vanish underground.

Its complicated structure is comprised of innumerable trenches, bunkers, booby traps, bomb shelters, and an amazing air ventilation system. Several meters below the surface is everything needed for the life of local inhabitants: hospitals, schools, meeting rooms, kitchens and more.

Back to the city center. Dinner on your own expense. Overnight stay at the hotel in Ho Chi Minh city.

Stop off at various local workplaces to give you a picture of how the local economy works, including brickwork, a coconut processing workshop and a mat weaving house.

Going to a coconut processing workshop is the most appealing to tourists, especially kids. Here you can sample fresh coconut, observe the candy-making process and enjoy sweet and greasy coconut candies that just come out of the oven.

Have you ever seen straw mats woven using a handloom? This time you can even have a go at weaving yourself!

The boat will then stop at a quiet village where you can have a short walk to experience real Delta village life, before boarding your 'xe loi' (a kind of motorized rickshaw) and traveling into the forest where you can visit fruit orchards before having lunch.

Lunch at a local house where you can enjoy some tasty delicacies.

"Our guide was knowledgeable and lovely. During the tour, he introduced all the local cuisine to us. We were so happy to try everything. The cooking class was a worthy experience because they taught us how to make fresh spring rolls with rice paper. Vietnamese food is quite cheap and we saw many people eating outside. That’s why we were full all the time. Sometimes, you should negotiate with sellers and vendors to have a good price for products. Great!"

"This is my first time traveling to Vietnam. So curious about the beauty of this country when I saw pictures and videos on the Internet.  I was impressed by the variety of tourist attractions. It can be historical sites or natural resources. Food - the most important point of the tour. Everything was quite new to me. We had Pho and the sandwich in Canberra before and it tasted boring. But I definitely love them in Vietnam. The broth here is made from pig bones and blood which makes soup tasty. And Banh Mi full of pickles was so nice. The signature of the Old Quarter was Egg Coffee. It has 2 different layers with egg yolk, condensed milk, and coffee. I really love the foamy texture and its sweetness. Highly recommend it to other coming tourists.   "

"I had more than a week in Vietnam with my partner. We had a chance to travel along the country from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. Such an unforgettable time. I visited so many attractions, but the most favorite is Ha Noi - the capital city with traditional delicacies and historical sites around Old Quarter. Also, I enjoyed all the taste of food in all regions. Authentic Pho is on the next level compared with the one in the USA. Bun Cha by Michelin Guide is an excellent option for people who love noodles and grilled pork. Street food is diverse with many types of fresh fruit such as watermelon, mango, mangosteen, and especially coconut drinks.   "

"Shout out to Ly - a travel consultant from the agency who recommend the tour to me. I enjoyed all the time and activities with other people in the mutual group. We’ve been to many places and eaten local cuisine. My favorite food is Pho, Banh Mi, Bun Cha, Mi Quang, Banh Goi, and Banh Trang Tron, etc. The weather was a bit erratic these days but not too bad. Wish I had more time there. What a nice trip. Worth paying!  "

"I’m a food lover and this trip to discover Vietnamese cuisine brought me the most emotions.  In Hanoi we tried a lot of delicious dishes such as Buncha, niem, Pho,...(Bun cha is wonderful) The seafood in Halong is very fresh, very juicy. Then we traveled to Hue, Danang, and Hoian Ancient Town. I tried a lot of kinds of “banh”: botloc, banh Xeo .We will miss these flavors so much when we return home. Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta were the final destinations on the tour. banh Moon (I don’t know the Vietnamese name of it) with the sour taste of mango, the quail eggs, the rich taste of mayonnaise, and the sweetness of tamarind sauce,...argg so amazing! What a natural combination.  Vietnamese really like durians, the smell was quite strong, but the taste was not bad. Banh Mi is actually a billion times better than the bread in Toronto. I like the pickle inside, it stimulates the taste buds. Kumquat tea was also delicious. Thanks to Gigi for advising me on this food tour. I was very satisfied. I will definitely return to Vietnam in the future."

I just wish that the pick-up could be more accurate. I know the traffic in big cities in Vietnam is a nightmare but it should be at the time in the itinerary. \we wait about 40 min before getting picked up to transfer to Halong. "

We visited some cities like Hanoi, HCM, Hue,... but I was the most ipressed by Hoian. We stayed there for a few days and my impression is that people from all over Vietnam (not just tourists) flock to this old town. Guess the reasons are the peacful vibe, slow pace of life and amazing cuisine. I love all of these feature and will comeback to Hoian someday."

"My family and I had a wonderful culinary journey in Vietnam in 12 days with the help of asiaprivatetravels. Our brilliant asked me to write a review on this website and I was like: Of course I will, this tour should be rcm for anyone coming to Vietnam. I cannot describe the charm of Vietnam cuisine. It was beyond fantastic. Thanks to our guides we had some execellent recommendations from street food to cooking course. Now I can cook some simple Vietnamese dishes at home.  Besides, the places we went across were surpringsingly beautiful. The French-vibe architecture in Hanoi, stunning seascape in Halong, and the tranquility in Hoian,... I dont know if it's true but I can sense a relationship between the cuisine and the people in each region.  There are more to say but I'll just stop here. Overall. this tour is suitable for anyone, even some picky gourmets, and you will enjoy the landscape, local life besides cuisine. Totally recommend."

I have to say that the country is really long. can't imagine that I travelled north to south in 12 days haha.  Thanks to my tour guide - D, he was so helpful, so friendly and attentive. I would have ended up trying some random vendors or fancy restaurant if I go by my self. Thanks to D, I tried many good food in Vietnam, from bun cha in Hanoi to cao lau in Hoi Am. Why they are so good? I asked D like that and he say the secret came from nuoc mam? haha really curious about this ingredient. Anyway, you should expect that you will try a lot of yummy dishes, so don't overeat even you like that plate. Save up for other dishes too!"

It is our best option in the whole trip to have APT consult us and create convinient and comfortable experience. of course we also got to see a lot of attractions across the country, but the food is truly insane! Each region seems to be a lil bit different in taste, but they are all mouth-watering. Luckily I dont have any allergy so I can enjoy all the dishes in the itinerary.
