Weather - The best time to visit Vang Vieng

Vang Vieng's climate has 2 seasons: dry season and cool season. The cool season lasts from around November to February/March, and it is also the most popular period to visit. The weather is dry and comfortable, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 30 degrees during the day and somewhat lower at night. During this period, it is pleasant to visit Laos. In April and May, temperatures might reach 40 degrees Celsius, with significant humidity. 

Transport - How to get to and around Vang Vieng

According to visitors who have traveled from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng, you can take a huge bus (also known as a VIP bus) or minivan to Vang Vieng. Every day, buses depart from Luang Prabang (travel time: 5-7 hours) and Vang Vieng to Vientiane (driving time: 4–5 hours). You can travel to one of the many local tour agencies to buy your own bus tickets, or you can ask your hotel to make reservations for you. The cost is approximately 120,000 kip. If you want a more luxurious ride, you may also charter a private car for about $120 each way.
