The time of check-in is 12:30 noon, the staffs will help you settle into your suite.
If you have arrived in Bagan on an early flight or the day before, you can join in the early tour around Bagan. 
Start the day like a local with a visit to Nyaung U Market where the residents and farmer meet and trade from produces to lacquerware. 
Then, continue to the gilt Shwezigon Pagoda. It is told to protecting the bone and two tooth relics of the Buddha.
We then go back to the ship for your lunch and resume the journey to Sagaing.
After lunch, there will be some more informative activities on board to keep you entertained. Learning how to wear longyi (sarong) and using thanaka (a kind of traditional cosmetic paste) and finally attend a talk about Myanmar and its history, cultures and future.

SAGAING - AMARAPURA

After breakfast, a cooking demonstration will be organized by the Executive Chef so you can get to know the basic of the local cuisine and hone your skill.
After lunch, the vessel sails slowly to the Sagaing Hills. The afternoon will be spent in a monastic school and orphanage where the monks teach hundreds of novice of both Buddhism and regular knowledge. Continue to Sagaing Hill – a renowned religious center with over 550 monasteries and 6,000 monks and nuns reside here. 
Afterward, continue to Amarapura or “The City of Immortals” which ironically only last for a short period of time. Visit the cotton and silk weaving house and observe the expertly hand of the women here. Afterward visit the U Bein Bridge nearby to enjoy the sunset drape over the horizon. 
Enjoy a traditional performance before dinner on board.

Afterward, back for lunch and then we commence the afternoon tour with a visit to Ananda Temple. Built in the 11th century, it is one of the oldest temples in Bagan that still remain relatively intact till today. Next stop is the Kayminga Pagoda Complex to see the various pagoda styles and architecture.
Toward the end of the day, you will be taken to a viewpoint where you can admire the Bagan wonderland as the red sun casts a magical haze over the already enchanted land.
Evening on board, enjoy a welcome glass of champagne and participate in the safety brief in Kansi Panorama Lounge before enjoying dinner.
Tonight’s dinner is set on a sandbank illuminated by the candles.

SIN KYUN 

Today will start off with a trip up north to the Sin Kyun Village. A small village with just the population of 1,000 whose main occupations are farming and hat making.
Then you can have the option of participate in the local life as you follow the Village Chief to the library and a house for English teacher that are built by the Sanctuary Ananda Philanthropy. Your visit will furthermore support to the funding and development of the village’s quality of life.
Afterward, sail back down to Tan Chi Taung. En route, you can see the gigantic unfinished Mingun Pagoda. You also find the men and women by the bank doing their washing.
After lunch, you can spend the afternoon leisurely on board or make a detour through the back of the cruise.
Finish off the day with a tasty dinner.

The morning proposes a chance to enjoy your time with the Executive Chef and learn from the master to continue your process of mastering Asian cuisine.
Enjoy lunch as we enter Bagan – the plain of ancient pagodas.
After a short rest, the journey takes you to Tan Chi Taung Mountain where you have the chance to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the region. Next, watch the traditional Elephant dance before returning to Sanctuary Ananda.
Tonight’s dinner is set on a sandbank illuminated by the candles.

The traditional technique has been passed from generation to generation since the 11th century and being honed and improved day after day.
Toward the end of the day, you will be taken to a viewpoint where you can admire the Bagan wonderland as the red sun casts a magical haze over the already enchanted land.

Our journey today will be towards Salingyi. Spend the day on board with various activities. A cooking demonstration will be organized by the Executive Chef so you can get to know the basic of the local cuisine and hone your skill. Then, learn how to wear longyi (sarong) and use thanaka (a kind of traditional cosmetic paste) and finally attend a talk about Myanmar and its history, cultures and future.
Continue the sail down south, you can have the chance to truly see the life of rural people in Burma countryside in the comfort and luxury of Sanctuary Ananda. Toward the end of the day we will reach Monywa.
Finish off the day with a tasty dinner.

SALINGYI
Day 3
PO WIN CAVES & BODHI TATHAUNG

After breakfast, begin with an exploration to the Po Win Taung Caves near Shwe Ba Taung. This site is special for all of the structures are built and carved out of the hills. Aside Po Win Taung and Shwe Ba Taung Pagoda, there are hundreds of tunnels connected to each other decorated by the ancient murals.
We enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch at one of the shades nearby with incredible vista.
Next on the agenda we will continue to the Thanboddhay Pagoda Pagoda. Typically gilded and golden, this pagoda is truly spectacle with almost five hundred thousand images of Buddha dotted around the pagoda ground. Final visit of the day is to Bodhi Tataung Pagoda to be amazed by the two gigantic Buddha statues. The reclining Buddha is around 333 foot long while the standing one towers at the height of 424 feet.
Back on board, enjoy a delicious dinner.

After a short rest, the journey takes you to Tan Chi Taung Mountain where you have the chance to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the region. Next, watch the traditional Elephant dance before returning to Sanctuary Ananda.

After breakfast, we leave to a local village by horse cart. Witness the slow paced life of the people as they make their way to the fields and herd the livestock. Photo stops along the way until you reach Sulamani Temple.
After lunch, we make the trip to Kyauk Gu U Min Temple that is famous for their cave structure. Unlike other temples throughout Bagan which rises above the ground, this temple is built along with the land in a tunnel system. 
Then, we make a visit to a rural village where the residents are still going on about their days without a worry.
Dinner will be served on board.

Afternoon, a trip to gold leaf workshop will be on your agenda. Watch as the men smashing the gold to a thin layer which everyone uses to adorn the pagodas and the Buddha. Afterward, resume the artisan journey with a trip to a bronze casting workshop.
Final stop of the day will be in Mandalay Hill and the Su Taung Pyai Pagoda on top of the hill. Here arrive, you can see the Mandalay and the surrounding region easily.

SET SAIL IN BAGAN

The time of check-in is 12:30 noon, the staffs will help you settle into your suite.
If you have arrived in Bagan on an early flight or the day before, you can join in the early tour around Bagan. 
Afterward, back for lunch and then we commence the afternoon tour with a visit to Ananda Temple. Built in the 11th century, it is one of the oldest temples in Bagan that still remain relatively intact till today. Next stop is the Kayminga Pagoda Complex to see the various pagoda styles and architecture.
Toward the end of the day, you will be taken to a viewpoint where you can admire the Bagan wonderland as the red sun casts a magical haze over the already enchanted land.
Evening on board, enjoy a welcome glass of champagne and participate in the safety brief in Kansi Panorama Lounge before enjoying dinner.
Tonight’s dinner is set on a sandbank illuminated by candles.

OPTIONAL: Early morning balloon tour in Bagan. Supplement needed.
Start the day like a local with a visit to Nyaung U Market where the residents and farmer meet and trade from produces to lacquerware. 
Then, continue to the gilt Shwezigon Pagoda. It is told to protecting the bone and two tooth relics of the Buddha.
We then go back to the ship for your lunch and resume the journey to Sagaing.
After lunch, there will be some more informative activities on board to keep you entertained. Learning how to wear longyi (sarong) and using thanaka (a kind of traditional cosmetic paste) and finally attend a talk about Myanmar and its history, cultures and future.

Day 3
MANDALAY

After breakfast, a cooking demonstration will be organized by the Executive Chef so you can get to know the basic of the local cuisine and hone your cooking.
After lunch, the vessel sails slowly to the Sagaing Hills. The afternoon will be spent in a monastic school and orphanage where the monks teach hundreds of novice of both Buddhism and regular knowledge. Continue to Sagaing Hill – a renowned religious center with over 550 monasteries and 6,000 monks and nuns reside here. 
Afterward, continue to Amarapura or “The City of Immortals” which ironically only last for a short period of time. Visit the cotton and silk weaving house and observe the expertly hand of the women here. Afterward visit the U Bein Bridge nearby to enjoy the sunset drape over the horizon. 
Enjoy a traditional performance before dinner on board.

Day 4
MANDALAY

After breakfast, the morning tour consists of visits to Mahamuni Pagoda, Kuthodaw Pagoda – the world’s largest book – and Shwesandaw Monastery (Golden Palace Monastery).
Afternoon, a trip to gold leaf workshop will be on your agenda. Watch as the men smashing the gold to a thin layer which everyone uses to adorn the pagodas and the Buddha. Afterward, resume the artisan journey with a trip to a bronze casting workshop.
Final stop of the day will be in Mandalay Hill and the Su Taung Pyai Pagoda on top of the hill. Here arrive, you can see the Mandalay and the surrounding region easily.
Dinner will be served on board.

Day 5
SIN KYUN 

Today will start off with a trip up north to the Sin Kyun Village. A small village with just the population of 1,000 whose main occupations are farming and hat making.
Then you can have the option of participate in the local life as you follow the Village Chief to the library and a house for English teacher that are built by the Sanctuary Ananda Philanthropy. Your visit will furthermore support to the funding and development of the village’s quality of life.
Afterward, sail back down to Tan Chi Taung. En route, you can see the gigantic unfinished Mingun Pagoda. You also find the men and women by the bank doing their washing.
After lunch, you can spend the afternoon leisurely on board or make a detour through the back of the cruise.
Finish off the day with a tasty dinner.

SIN KYUN 
Day 6

The morning proposes another chance to enjoy your time with the Executive Chef and learn from the master to continue your process of mastering Asian cuisine.
Enjoy lunch as we enter Bagan – the plain of ancient pagodas.
After a short rest, the journey takes you to Tan Chi Taung Mountain where you have the chance to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the region. Next, watch the traditional Elephant dance before returning to Sanctuary Ananda.
Tonight’s dinner is set on a sandbank illuminated by the candles.

After breakfast, we leave to a local village by horse cart. Witness the slow paced life of the people as they make their way to the fields and herd the livestock. Photo stops along the way until you reach Sulamani Temple.
After lunch, we make the trip to Kyauk Gu U Min Temple that is famous for their cave structure. Unlike other temples throughout Bagan which rises above the ground, this temple is built along with the land in a tunnel system. 
Then, we make a visit to a rural village where the residents are still going on about their days without a worry.
Dinner will be served on board.

SIN TAE TO OWN PIN SEIK

The ship rises early today and begins the sail at 5:00. 
We enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch at one of the shades nearby with incredible vista.
Next on the agenda, we will continue to the Thanboddhay Pagoda. Typically gilded and golden, this pagoda is truly spectacle with almost five hundred thousand images of Buddha dotted around the pagoda ground. Final visit of the day is to Bodhi Tataung Pagoda to be amazed by the two gigantic Buddha statues. The reclining Buddha is around 333 feet long while the standing one towers at the height of 424 feet.
Back on board at 4:30 PM as we continue toward Own Pin Seik.

Day 3

Enjoy the fresh air and the essence of the land with a meditation course on the Bhamo Deck and afterward, if you wish to the Executive Chef will be there to instruct and share how to create some tasty Asian dishes.
In the afternoon, we arrive at Maukkadaw Village which used to be hotspot for teak. Explore this charming town with incredible teak houses and end with a visit to a brick monastery.
The evening will be spent watching a film call “The Lady” about Aung San Suu Kyi in the Kansi Panorama. Overnight in Ngar Own.

After breakfast, join in the lecture by the guide on board.
Afternoon commences with an excursion to Kalewa. It is the main trading hub between Myanmar and India. This town lay near the intersection between the Myit Tha River and Chindwin River.
After lunch, the voyage continues through exotic, untouched jungle and few small houses along the bank.

MASEIN TO HAE NIN

Morning sail to Maweleik. Used to be the base for the headquarter of Bombay Burma Trading Company, to this very day the town is still filled with life and activities and painted with colonial beauties. Not many have the pleasure of visiting this town.
Return the ship just in time for lunch and continue north.
Afterward, you can relax on board and enjoy the amenities. Before reaching the final stop Hae Nin.

Day 6
HAE NIN TO SITTHAUNG

A morning meditation course will be arranged on Bhamo Deck.
Continue south until you arrive in Sitthaung. Venture out to the fresh and lush paddy fields before making your way to the village pagoda. 
Afternoon continue to Paung Pyin, the northernmost point of the trip. The river here called Uyu and you can find many local here trying their luck with their pan in hope of getting some gold dust.

HAE NIN TO SITTHAUNG
Day 7
SITTHAUNG TO MASEIN

Journey downstream to Masein, have the leisurely morning on board. 
Dock at Masein at 2.30pm.
We leave for the hills near the village. Here you can find 28 ivory pagodas laying a row toward the riverbank. The number of pagoda is a depiction of the 28 Buddha that brought enlightenment to the world.
Enjoy a movie at night about the biggest city in the country – Yangon while munch on the canapés in the Kansi Panorama Lounge.

SITTHAUNG TO MASEIN
Day 8
MASEIN TO KANI

Spend the morning on board until arriving at Minkin at 11:00 noon.
Make a visit to Mahar Aung Mye Monk Monastery – one of the original wooden monasteries. Next is the Shwe Sagar Buddha, which was carved from a block of wood many years ago. Afterwards, we return to the ship to move to Kani, where the ship docks overnight.

MONYWA TO YESAGYO

This morning, begin with an exploration to the Po Win Taung Caves near Shwe Ba Taung. This site is special for all of the structures are built and carved out of the hills. Aside Po Win Taung and Shwe Ba Taung Pagoda, there are hundreds of tunnels connected to each other decorated by the ancient murals.
This evening, the bartender will instruct you how to make the signature cocktails: Golden Land and Chindwin.

Day 10
YESAGYO TO BAGAN

The morning will be for the journey from Yesagyo to Pakokku. Take the chance to see the weavers working and making cotton blankets before visiting local market with the chef. Return back for lunch and we will arrive in Bagan after.
Begin with a visit to Ananda Temple. Built in the 11th century, it is one of the oldest temples in Bagan that still remain relatively intact till today. Then, move to Htilominlo Temple – an impressive two-story monument that was built in the 13th century. Lastly, you can indulge in the sunset of the magical Bagan plain from the Pyathatgyi Temple.
Tonight’s dinner is set on a sandbank illuminated by the candles.

Early breakfast, make a walk through the pottery factory in the village. Observe the local worker work expertly with their disk to create gorgeous pots.

Spend the afternoon sailing to Kyar Nyet, you can tan on the loungers or relax with a book and a drink.

Morning departure from Kyar Nyet in order to reach Tagaung in the morning. Enjoy breakfast before going on land again for your expedition through the old Tagaung City which thrived during the Pyu Dynasty. There are still many ruins, though not as glorious as its former glory, have been very well preserved. Return to the ship and continue the journey to Katha.
In the evening, attend a talk about Myanmar and its history, cultures and future.

KATHA TO SHWE GU

Featured in the George Orwell’s famous work – Burmese Days, Kata is a charming low laying town that is worth your visit. Travel by tuk tuk to the author old house here in town. 
Afterward, we sail upstream to reach Shwe Gu by the evening. The evening will be spent watching a film call “The Lady” about Aung San Suu Kyi in the Kansi Panorama.

At 5:30 AM today, the ship will start moving for their journey to Bhamo.
The day will be spent on deck and enjoy the amenities.

SIN KHAN TO MOEDA

Reaching Bhamo in midday. Along the way, you will be amazed by the extraordinary landscapes on the riversides. Reaching the town in the afternoon.
The visit includes a trip to the market and center of Bhamo to Shwe Kyi Na Pagoda and the Catholic churches.
During lunch, the ship travels to Moeda village. As you sail down the water, you can see the spirit rock that is shaped like a parrot.
The afternoon tour will be a trip to an elephant camp where you can find lumberjacks and elephants working in harmony.
This evening, the bartender will instruct you how to make the signature cocktails: Golden Land and Chindwin.

Resume the trip downstream today. En route, you can join the chef in the cooking class for traditional Asian food.
This morning we will head South. While we sail, join our chef for a cooking demonstration of traditional Asian cuisine

SANCTUARY ANANDA CRUISE POLICY

1. Alteration of schedule and cruise itinerary

Though every effort will be made to ensure that the published itinerary is followed as closely as possible, given uncertain river and other local conditions, all schedules and itineraries may be subject to alterations and delays at short notice.

2. Child policy & third adult rates

- Children aged 6 and over are welcome on board Sanctuary Ananda with accompanying adult(s). Children must be supervised at all times and their safety is the responsibility of the accompanying adult(s).

- One child aged up to and including 12 years sharing a Luxury Suite with two adults pays 60% of the adult rate.

- One child aged up to and including 12 years sharing the Owner’s Suite with two adults pays 60% of the adult rate

- One adult sharing the Owner's Suite as the third occupant pays 75% of the per person rate.

- Children over 12 years will need to have their own cabin.

3. Payment Terms

A non-refundable 30% deposit is payable at the time of booking.

The remaining balance will be paid 70 days prior to arrival. 

If a booking is made 70 days or less before arrival, full fare payment must be made within 48 hours.

Failure to pay on time may result in automatic cancellation of the booking with cancellation penalties.

4. Cancellation Terms

Cancellations received between the date of booking and 70 days prior to departure will result in the loss of the deposit.

Cancellations received 69 - 40 days prior to departure will be subject to a cancellation charge of 50% of the tour price.

Cancellations received 39 days or less prior to departure will be subject to a forfeiture of the entire tour price.

The purchase of special event tickets is subject to the refund policy of each individual event. 

5. Force majeure

In the case of circumstances beyond normal control that cannot be foreseen or avoided, such as but not limited to war, civil or political unrest, strikes, catastrophes, epidemics, adverse river conditions or disruption to fuel supplies to the vessel, the Company may cancel the cruise and there will be a full refund of all monies paid by the passenger. In the event of a cruise being canceled as a result of the above force majeure situations following the commencement of that cruise period, the monies will not be refunded and the company will not be held liable for compensation.

6. Insurance

We strongly advise travelers to purchase trip cancellation insurance. In this case, guests will be reimbursed the cost of air tickets and other non-refundable trip payments. We also highly recommend guests to get international medical, baggage loss and delay insurance in the case of bad situations. Sanctuary Ananda will take no responsibility for lost or stolen personal belongings.

7. Dietary needs

For travelers with special dietary needs, they should contact us at least 30 days prior to embarkation. The cruise liner will make the utmost effort to provide special dietary needs and requests basing on the product’s availability.
