Check-in the cruise near the lunch time in the Rangoon River. Afterward, the ship will traverse to the Twante Canal which is on the south east of Yangon. Stop here, to make a visit to the Twante Town and explore.

MAUBIN AND NYAUNG DON

After sailing in the morning, we leave the ship to walk through the busy market of Maubin. Return back to the ship for lunch.
The afternoon excursion happens in Nyaung Don city in the Delta of Irrawaddy. Study the farming life here. Return back on board as the ship sails to Zakagyi to spend the night.

DANABYU AND ZALON

Sailing through the shallow creeks of Irrawaddy Delta, we reach Donabyu – a secluded town that not many tourists have set foot on. Here you can learn the history about the defeat of the Burmese General Maha Bandoola in the first Anglo-Burmese War in 1825.
Afternoon excursion will be to Zalon with its breathtaking Golden Buddha Image before going back to the ship to sail to Henzada for overnight.

If you are an early bird, you can watch the sunrise as the ship navigate this way up to Pyu. In the morning, you will pass through A Kaut Taung where you can see the Buddha carvings on the cliffside. By afternoon, we will reach Prome and proceed with a trip to Thiri-ya-kittiya – an important archaeological site of the Pyu Dynasty.

THAYET MYO

This quite town once was the border point between the British Myanmar and Royal Myanmar during the 2nd Anglo-Burmese in 1855. Because of this this town is filled with colonial buildings and contains the oldest golf course in Myanmar (built in 1885). First, we make our way to the local market and a round through the street then embark on the horse-carts to the golf course while you pass through the British Botanical Garden.

MINHLA AND MAGWE

This morning we reach Minhla and visit the two forts built by an Italian engineer to help defend the British during the war. Minhla was also the site a serious battle between the two forces that inspired Ruyard Kipling’s poem. Afterward, up to trishaws we go and visit Magwe Town and the Myatthalon Pagoda that were constructed with solid gold brick. Return back on board to continue sailing.

Today, arrive in Salay, we visit Yokesone Monastery which is also a museum made all from teak and precise carvings. En route, stop at a feel colonial influenced houses along the side of the river. Return back on board to continue upstream.

By the morning, we will reach Bagan as the ship moor on the riverside. Today trip will consist of a careful selection of over 3,000 monuments in the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Bagan.

Today, you will reach Yandabo. Well known for its historical significance as the place where the peace treaty for the first Anglo-Burmese war was signed. Nowadays, it is mostly regarded for it clay water pots of which materials source from the Irrawaddy River itself. You can experience making one with the instruction of our guide and the workers.
Afterward, visit the Yandabo School that is supported by Pandaw (when there is no holiday).

MANDALAY, SAGAING AND AMARAPURA

Today trip begins with a drive to Mahamuni Pagoda which house one of the most significant Buddha Images in Myanmar. The Buddha Image was brought in by King Bodawpaya in the 18th century. Outside of the pagoda, you can have the chance to visit many workshops here that specialize in marble carvings. Next, Shwenandaw Monastery (or Golden Palace Monastery) will be on your schedule. 
Afternoon trip consists of a visit to Sagaing – the heart of the Buddhism in the country. Reach the top of Sagaing Hill and visit Soon U Ponya Monastery to have a panoramic view of the region. Next, we continue to Amarapura, another old capital. Finish the day with a sunset boat trip on Taungthaman Lake (subject to the water level) by U Bein Bridge.

Continue to Mingun Senior home that was founded by the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company in the 30s.

Moor on the river bank, we will leave the ship and walk to Yoke-Sone Kyaung, the teak monastery that houses many archaeological and religious artifacts.

Katha is an enchanting and unchanging town since the colonial time and from the George Orwell’s Burmese Days. We will visit some significant sites such as the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company’s ships’ bells and old British station. Along the way back we will make a visit to a Elephant Logging camp.

As we continue sailing today, we will reach the 2nd Defile with its impressive gorges and cliff towering and seemingly tipping over the river. As we pass this nature’s majestic creation we turn downstream to make our way back.

Today, as we reach Tagaung, a walking tour will ensue. See the remain of the old fort, a nat shrine and the archaeological site.

MINGUN

During breakfast, the ship will sail to Mingun for a morning excursion. Leave the ship, you will walk to the world’s largest unfinished stupa built by King Bodawpaya. Then continue to Mingun Bell which is one of the world’s largest and functional bells. Return back on board afterward for lunch. Continue to Mingun Senior home that was founded by the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company in the 30s.
Afternoon trip consists of a visit to Sagaing – the heart of the Buddhism in the country. Reach the top of Sagaing Hill and visit Soon U Ponya Monastery to have a panoramic view of the region.

AVA - YANDABO

The shore excursion today begins with a trip to Ava – former capital city of an ancient dynasty. start the morning by a trip to Bagaya Monastery – an all teak monastery and are lacquered in black paint.
Afternoon, you will reach Yandabo. Well known for its historical significance as the place where the peace treaty for the first Anglo-Burmese war was signed. Nowadays, it is mostly regarded for it clay water pots of which materials source from the Irrawaddy River itself. You can experience making one with the instruction of our guide and the workers.

The ship departs early today from Yangon to enter the Twante Canal. Stop briefly here in town to observe the workers creating clay pots. Then return back on board to resume the journey to Pyapon a lively town on the delta.

The morning, sailing to Bogale. Used to be a Mon capital and the busiest trading port that the British, French and Italian sailed to trade. Nearby the town there is an incredible mangrove reserve. Along the visit, you can have the chance to see the monastery of the town.

Today sailing will be special as the ship navigate through small canals and creeks and smaller boats along the river. As we sail, you can stop at one of the nearby village.

Sailing all morning to day to reach to the last leg of the delta to arrive in Bassein River and the town Bassein. Here arrive, we will have the chance to see a traditional umbrella factory that the monks like to bring with them and the local shrines as well as lively markets.

This late morning, transfer from the airport or your hotel (in the city center) to the ship followed by the welcome lunch on board. 
The first shore excursion will be visits to Bagan. First, we start off to Ananda Temple, arguably one of the most beautiful and well-preserved structures in Bagan. Built in the 12th century, the temple has endured and witness many wars and disasters.
Next on your schedule is the Gubyaukgyi Temple, also built in the 12th century, one of the rare temples in the area that still retains its original murals that depicts the people life in Bagan as well as the journey to enlightenment.
Near the end of the day, we make the trip to Phwar saw Village with the population of just over 500. Here, you don’t find many tourists just field of pea, bean and cattle milling around.
Return back to the cruise afterward.

BAGAN

Continue the discovery in Bagan today. After breakfast, first we visit Shwesandaw Stupa with their many floor that used to allow visitors to climb up for elevated view. Next on the agenda is the gilt Shwezigon Pagoda which is believed to contain a hair relic of the Buddha.
Before we go back to the cruise to enjoy lunch, make a walk through the Khaminga Pagoda complex to furthermore understand the special architecture of the endless pagodas and stupas in the region.
After enjoying lunch and a short rest, we make a trip to a lacquerware production house to learn about the hard and long process of making this type of intricate craft that is famous all over Bagan.
Next of the excursion is a visit to Payathonezu a temple complex built in the 13th century that connected with each other through a small passage. Then, visit Dhamayangyi built in the 12th century – the largest temples in Bagan.
Towards the end of the day, we watch the sunset on the top of Taung Guni Temple before going back to the ship for overnight.

Day 3
SALAY - AYARDAW - TAN CHI TAUNG

The ship will spend the early morning to sail to Salay – a small town on the south of Bagan – that is famous for their colonial buildings and teak monastery converted to a museum.
Moor on the river bank, we will leave the ship and walk to Yoke-Sone Kyaung, the teak monastery that houses many archaeological and religious artifacts. After the visit and on the way back to the ship, we can make a stop at Salay House.
While you are on board for lunch, the ship will sail to upstream to Ayaerdaw to visit the clinic that is sponsored by Pandaw and make our way by bus to the Tant Chi Taung Mount and see the temple near the top here.
Late afternoon, enjoy a traditional show of elephant dancing by the local residents before returning back on board for overnight.

SALAY - AYARDAW - TAN CHI TAUNG

PAKOKKU

Today, the ship will sail up to Pakokku a small town north of Bagan (30 km away by road). The main products the town make are tobacco, cotton and peanuts, thanaka and textiles. Making the way through town by tuk tuk, stop at the main market as well as the cheroot workshop.
Return back on board and the rest of the day will be spent sailing.

YANDABO

Today, you will reach Yandabo after breakfast. Well known for its historical significance as the place where the peace treaty for the first Anglo-Burmese war was signed. Nowadays, it is mostly regarded for it clay water pots of which materials source from the Irrawaddy River itself. You can experience making one with the instruction of our guide and the workers.
Afterward, visit the Yandabo School that is supported by Pandaw (when there is no holiday).
Return back on board as you spend the night sailing to Pauk-taw, Pauk-myaing village near Ava for overnight.

Day 6
AVA - SAGAING – AMARAPURA

The shore excursion today begins with a trip to Ava – former capital city of an ancient dynasty. Leave the ship to a coach as we reach Ava Jetty. Here, you will catch a local ferry to reach Ava, followed by a horse-cart ride to Menu Oak Kyaung Monastery built in the 19th century by the queen. Finish off the morning by a trip to Bagaya Monastery – an all teak monastery and are lacquered in black paint. 
Afternoon trip consists of a visit to Sagaing – the heart of the Buddhism in the country. Reach the top of Sagaing Hill and visit Soon U Ponya Monastery to have a panoramic view of the region. Afterward, make a trip to a nunnery to study the discipline of the Buddhists.
Finishing the trip here, we continue to Amarapura, another old capital. We stop at a silk and cotton weaving houses to see the artisans at work.
Finish the day with a sunset boat trip on Taungthaman Lake (subject to the water level) by U Bein Bridge.

During breakfast, the ship will sail to Mingun for a morning excursion. Leave the ship, you will walk to the world’s largest unfinished stupa built by King Bodawpaya. Then continue to Mingun Bell which is one of the world’s largest and functional bells. Return back on board afterward for lunch.
The afternoon trip begins with a drive to Mahamuni Pagoda which house one of the most significant Buddha Images in Myanmar. The Buddha Image was brought in by King Bodawpaya himself in the 18th century. Outside of the pagoda, you can have the chance to visit many workshops here that specialize in marble carvings. Next, Shwenandaw Monastery (or Golden Palace Monastery) will be on your schedule. Nearby is the world’s largest book – Kuthodaw Pagoda which contains 729 marble walls of Buddhism inscriptions.
If time allows, you can finish the day in Mandalay Hill that offer great backdrop for photos.

RV KANEE PANDAW POLICY

1. Alteration of schedule and cruise itinerary

In spite of the fact that we will do our best to assure that the announced itinerary is followed at the strictest possible level, occasionally, we might have to alter or delay the schedules and itineraries in the last minute due to the uncertainty of local weather and river conditions.

2. Change point of embarkation and disembarkation

If the cruise encounters difficulty in embarking and disembarking passengers at the scheduled points, RV Kanee Pandaw will bear no extra cost of transporting to and from the embarking and disembarking place except for the case that the passengers or their agents have purchased a package tour including our land services. Any reason for altering the place of embarkation and disembarkation will not be considered a reason for terminating this contract. 

3. Fuel surcharge

The fuel costs, which have been calculated basing on the average market price, are included in the announced ticket price. If the fuel price increases by more than 10%, the company will have the right to collect charge for fuel supplement equal to the amount by which the fuel price exceeds the price stated in the contract.

4. Deposit

If you book more than 65 days in advance of the departure date, you are required to make a 30% non-refundable deposit at the booking time. The remaining amount must be paid at least 65 prior to the departure.

If you book less than 65 days in advance of the departure date, you are required to make full payment of the fare within 48 hours.

*You may be required to make higher non-refundable deposits for certain special offers. Advice for these offers will be shown to you at the time of booking.

5. Cancellation by us

Under the circumstance that a cruise cannot be operated for passengers with confirmed bookings or departures because the number of occupied cabins is less than 5, RV Kanee Pandaw has the rights to call off the cruise. We will notify all passengers with confirmed booking about the cancellation 30 days in advance. A substitute cruise ship (with parallel itinerary and ship type) or an alternative departure date will be proposed depending on its availability.

RV Kanee Pandaw will bear or compensate any extra or difference in cruise prices. If the passengers do not agree with the alternative ship or departure, we will make full refund of the deposit amounts upon the demand of the passengers. If RV Kanee Pandaw makes cancellation of a cruise after a passenger has cancelled their bookings and paid cancellation charges (and deposit), we will make full refund upon the passenger’s request.

6. Cancellation by Customer

If you intend canceling your booking, you must notify us via email or fax. The applicable policy for cancellation charge will be as follows:

  • If you cancel 65 days or more prior to the departure, you will be charged 30% of the total price.
  • If you cancel 64 days or less prior to the departure, or don’t show up, you will be charged 100% of the total price.

 * When calculating the refund for your cancellation, we will deduct the wire fees and credit card commissions.

7. Children Price & Extra Bed

Children under the age of 4 may share cabin with their parent(s) without extra charge. However, RV Kanee Pandaw cannot ensure the availability of cots. Children over the age of 4 up to 18 get:

  • 50% reduction from adult price for 1 adult and 1 child staying in 1 cabin
  • 50% reduction for the child for 2 adults and 1 child staying in 2 cabins (1 cabin has no single supplement)
  • 50% reduction for the children for 2 adults and 2 children staying in 2 cabins.

For larger family groups, the price would be calculated upon request.

8. Insurance

We highly recommend that travelers have their trip cancellation covered. In this case, travelers will be repaid the cost of air ticket and other non-refundable payments for the trip. We also advise the guests to purchase insurance for medical matters, luggage loss and delay of the trip in case of unfavorable situations. RV Kanee Pandaw will not be liable for the loss of personal belongings.

9. Dietary needs

If the guests have exceptional dietary needs, they should contact with us 30 days in advance of the departure. The cruise crew will exert all possible efforts to satisfy the exceptional dietary needs and demands depending on the availability of the goods.

10. Travelers’ responsibilities

All the guests stepping on board should be responsible towards their co-travelers and the cruise crew. The guests are advised to analyze the conditions of the trip itinerary and have appropriate social conduct towards their co-travelers and crew members. They should thoroughly check all the safety requirements on board and during the trips.
