Not like 15 days like the previous visa exemption, the citizens of these countries are exempt from visas with a temporary stay of 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type, or entry purpose, on the basis of satisfying all entry conditions as prescribed by Vietnamese law.
Citizens of these countries bringing ordinary passports, regardless of entry purposes, are exempt from Vietnam entry and exit visas with a temporary stay of not more than 45 days, as long as they follow these requirements:
- Have a passport issued by the competent authority and the passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
- Have a round-trip transport ticket or go to another country
- Not subject to entry ban or restriction on entry to Vietnam
These changes in visa policies by the Vietnamese government promise to welcome travelers from all over the world. Now you no longer have to hesitate about your trip to Vietnam just because of the cumbersome visa procedure - especially for tourists going on more than a 2-week itinerary in Vietnam.
With a length of nearly 4000km, Vietnam promises a range of attractions, from charming coastal sites to marvelous mountains, from exciting markets to tranquil local villages,... Interestingly enough, each region of this country distinguishes its own beauty through multiple landscapes, cultures, cuisines, and humans. You might be surprised to know how a northern Vietnamese speaks completely differently from a southern one. All the diverse values combine into a unique Vietnam, and you can hardly explore all the characteristics without spending 2 or 3 weeks here! The new visa policy will definitely help you plan your Vietnam trip easier than ever. Imagine traveling to Vietnam’s highlighted destinations like Halong Bay, Danang, Hue, Hoian, etc. and freely combining them into your dream itinerary!
Plus, you will be more flexible in adjusting your Indochina itinerary through Vietnam and surrounding countries like Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia. A holiday for 2 weeks in Vietnam or 2 weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia now seems much more doable.
