Today, we will start an exciting Cruise through multi - country of the beautiful Southeast Asia. Before the voyage, we will first explore some fascinating inland destinations. 

In the morning, meet our guide in Chiang Rai and together head to the Golden Triangle at Chiang Saen. This place is famous for being the bordering area of the three nations: Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand. After that, let's sheltered in a restaurant and enjoy the delicious food served there.

Especially, Laotian cuisine is what you shouldn't miss. Next, we are ready for the tour to the Golden Buddha of Sop Ruak and the Hall of Opium. These places have it owns interesting features to attract tourists. Under the support of the Thai royal family, this museum holds diverse historical artifacts, images and the politics of the opium trade. If you would like to learn about the history of Thailand, this is one ideal place.

As sunrise, the boat leaves the Golden Triangle for a new adventure. Along the Mekong River, the site of the evergreen forests and local villages are so peaceful to contemplate. We will reach Huay Xai in no time. This is a bustling town that lies on the border of Laos and Thailand. 

We keep on sailing to Pak Tha. The further you cruise to the north, the more spectacular view you can enjoy. Upon arrival in Pak Tha, take your time to observe the life of the local and then, we will sail along the Namtha River on a long tail boat to the community of Khmu ethnic group. There, you can visit the local small school and observe the people's customs and lifestyles.

Or you can have a closer look at the ethnic minority life: the people of Hmong by joining the bustling market. After that, enjoy dinner at one of the excellent restaurants in the town of Luang Prabang or on the Mekong Riverbank.

In the afternoon, it's your time to discover the town in your way. To go faster and further, an E-bike is highly suggested. Through the narrow alleys to the big bright roads, catch yourself some delightful dishes and souvenirs to bring back home.

In the evening, there will be an exciting event that happens: the traditional Baci Ceremony. Joining the event, you can see the local dancers performing graceful dances that are unique. Return to the boat and have a farewell dinner as this is your last night on the Cruise. Spend the night on board.

Mekong Sun Cruise Policy

1. Deposit

  • Cancellations made 130 days or more prior to departure: charge 30% of total price
  • Cancellations made 130 to 70 days or more prior to departure: charge 50% of total price
  • Cancellations made 70 to 35 days or more prior to departure: charge 70% of total price
  • Cancellations made less than 35 days or more prior to departure: charge 90% of total price

2. Payment Conditions

  • In order to make a booking, 30% of deposit is required. The full payment must be completed 45 days before the departure. Failure will result in cancellation of the booking.
  • For overdue bills, 5% of the interest per month will be applied. Top Mekong Cruises takes zero responsibilities for bank surcharges for international transactions. Bank surcharges must be paid by the money sender.
  • Our bank details will be advised depend on confirmation of your reservation. Overseas payment shall be done by telegraphic transfer. Credit Card payment is also acceptable with an additional 3% of the invoicing amount.

I was kindly asked to write some feedback by Gam, so here it is! first I want to thank her, this girl is really is easy to work with and every request of us was considered. About the trip itself. I myself think that it's quite rush to see the whole of Vietnam, but it's a safe choice to visit Vietnam the first time. You will taste the most signature dishes in the main regions, see some of highlighted attractions,.. so you will know which to go and to see next time you return. (For me it will be the northern region!)
